get your slurpee on

so yesterday, 7-11-06 was free slurpee day for every 7-11 store. i read it on one of my daily blogs and so at around 9 pm (bored out of our asses), jeff, angela and i embarked on a slurpee run. it was only supposed to be one store. we hit the santa monica/virgil location and they told us they had one cup left. and the cup was small. tiny. it makes a dixie cup look like a water tank. anyway, so with one cup left at this location, jeff and i stood around the machine and tried 4 flavors (yeah we're ghetto, and we love it). there's a blue one with a superman tie-in. it would be the frosty equivalent of blue balls. whatever. in comes a group of employees from nearby kaiser, demanding their free slurpies. it felt like a block party was about to start. they were turned away by the 7-11 guy, telling them "these two took the last cup." so we offered to share our cup with the party. why not, right? free slurpees! one guy in scrubs asked if he could bring his own cup. another five minutes of brainfreeze heaven, and we left to pick up angela. next stop was franklin and vermont, where there were plenty cups to give away, but no parking. i waited in the car while my homeys filled 6 (i'm telling you, they were really small cups). they had pina colada, and all that needed was a little bacardi and i'm ready to party! we ran a few errands and then finally hit our last one. it's somewhere between silverlake and eagle rock. my head's spinning from the icy sugar high at this point, i don't even know what street we were on. we drove by at least 4 more locations before midnight, but we were all over it. i love being random and i can't drink any more slurpees for another year.
