crazy/beautiful

tom cruise may have lost his mind, but he's totes doable in this mag cover

somebody pinch me

i'm going back to london in 3 days. this won't be a work trip either. i'm sacrificing staying at an ian schrager hotel, comped meals, and free transportation for a five day adventure. this time, i'll be sleeping in a hostel the first two nights, i'll have all my clothes and travel gear strapped to my back, walking for miles on end, taking a 3 hour bus ride to stonehenge, and (hopefully) meeting fantastic people, seeing off the beaten path sights, and taking lots of pictures. i'll also be with my best friend, who has taught me that even for someone who's had one of life's biggest curveballs thrown his way, there's always bigger reasons to keep living. i'm going to be living, breathing, thinking london for awhile. i feel alive there, in a way that los angeles has not done for me. i can't wait...

my pet peeve (pun intended)

i know halloween is coming up and i love nothing more than dressing up with my friends, going out and looking at other people's costumes. the more DIY and fabulous, the better. i also appreciate how cute kids look (dean is going to be spiderman this year) when they go trick or treating. you know what i can't stand? this:

Fwd: Happy Halloween, sooooo cute!!!

...
...
...
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!
...
i hate, no, despise getting forwards of other people's dogs, cats, gerbils, beta fish, whatever, all dressed up in costumes (or even plain t-shirts and baseball caps, for that matter). i KNEW the minute i opened up that email, that something was fishy (or doggy, or kitty) about it. plus, there wasn't just ONE picture of a domesticated animal in costume attached. there were THIRTY of them, and with the slow ass connection i get at work, that's about THIRTY MINUTES to open an email that i regret opening in the first place! back to the bs...i don't think it's cute. go ahead and dress them up, walk them down the street, take a picture of them. JUST DON'T SEND IT TO ME, PLEASE. i know these animals would feel the same way, if they had the ability to talk. they don't want to be firefighters, pirates, or pocahontas for halloween. to them it's just a feeling of fabric on top of their head and choking their necks. pets that are dressed up creep me out as much as pageant prosti-tots. it's not right. it's not cute. stop sending me these forwards. thank you.

erica is our new iTunes hero

heidi, coll and i just spent an hour going through our coworker's iTunes list and sang along to gems like "shoop," "wannabe," "summer nights," "woo hoo" (actually it's "song 2" by blur), and "yay!!" (or more commonly known as "my sharona"). wednesday office dance party in full effect. i'm not crazy, after all.

it's been a pretty boring day...

...until i got this in mail

jealous?

"cramilicious" was around way before "fergalicious"

it's going to be a really busy next couple of days, preparing for the london trip (i'm so excited, i might pee my pants in fergie style) and getting work done before i leave. five glorious days in london. i wish it were five months, then i'll probably get my fill. i accidentally erased (!!!) videos i took from my last trip off my laptop and i'm desperately trying to find recovery software. i confused work (read: HSM cast videos) with videos of my hotel, sightseeing, etc. and trashed it along with the rest. ugh. i've had a couple of people contact me recently, which is very odd, because i guess i'm missed by those who i don't see on a daily basis anymore. the fact is, i'm not in that place yet where i'm fully okay to deal with everything, so it's very hard for me to pick up the phone and call some friends. i'm not writing these people off, but i hope they understand that they come with baggage, too. i'm venting when i should be writing a story on miley cyrus and emily osment. they're bffs!!! there you go, folks. that's a bachelor's degree in action right there! woohoo!

mission accomplished

AIDS Walk Los Angeles was truly an amazing experience. the weather couldn't have been more perfect, and my fellow walkers made every step unforgettable. even the THREE protesters holding up signs that said "sinners walking for AIDS is like smokers walking for lung cancer" and "homo-sex is a threat to national security" didn't matter. i'm glad to have shared this with my best friend jeff, sheila, michelle, brian & his dog pippin, mike, and 30,000 other people who raised $3,768,295 (and counting) for the fight against AIDS. i want to thank my generous sponsors (holla heidi, coll) for making this possible. please join me next year in this wonderful and unforgettable event.
ps: the lance and reichen sighting was just a little icing on the cake :)

"mother hell!"

mondays...ugh! i heart weekends. i don't heart 8 hour workdays. i am going to glendale in a bit to do a photoshoot with corbin bleu in the recording studio. if i have time, maybe i'll grab lunch at porto's.

i ran a couple of laps at the usc track stadium last night. it felt great, even though i thought i was going to die halfway around my third lap. "what's this right here" by kelis is a great song for cardio.

it's getting cold. the holidays are going to be here soon. time fucking flies.

(mother hell = errica blurted this last saturday)

i don't feel like dancin'

when did mario lopez get a thicker latino accent?? seriously, i was watching dancing with the stars last night and noticed his accent has changed. i'm not talking from saved by the bell years, either. mario didn't have the accent when he was on that morning talk show with danny bonaduce. what was it called? "the penis view?" something like that. anyway, i stayed up past my bedtime last night, going to silverlake with jeff and nyc friend glen. i slept in and didn't go to the gym this morning (don't tell marcus). tonight, i'm seeing a screening of shortbus by john cameron mitchell. it means i'm going to miss watching the premiere of lost, but will be sure to catch it later. then it's runway, then privilege tonight for a robin thicke cd release party. he's justin 2.0 in my book, but i can't shake off the fact that he's also dr. seaver's son.

say hello to my little friend

this guy was sent to me at work today...

he comes with a 40 page manual, so i don't know how to fully operate him yet. i do have a name picked out though. number 5. and he's alive. stop by and say hi (or shake his robo hands). he'll be breakdancing in no time.
