i'm seeing third eye blind tomorrow at the canyon club (in "agoura fucking hills," as ari gold calls it). excited does not even begin to describe how i feel. their first album was pop rock ear candy back in 1997, and i ate it all up. i even sang "semi-charmed life" for my "say what karaoke" audition in san diego. 3eb got darker lyrically and melodically with their second album "blue," and that includes one of my all time favorite songs "deep inside of you." there is also a track titled "slow motion" that doesn't contain lyrics on the album. i found the complete track, with lyrics, on napster a year later. it was one of the first songs i ever downloaded. i also interviewed bassist arion salazar for my college paper. he was making breakfast during our chat. he was stoked that i was a fellow leo. sometimes i wish i could just hang out with stephan and the guys for a week, ending it by getting completely shit-faced with them at buddha bar in san fran's chinatown, and then live to write the band's story, "almost famous" style.
